The systems and machines of our world depend on power electronics for the ability to run efficiently and sustainably. On the other hand, electronics as a stream from the perspective of IoT predominantly deals with networking, communication, and switching. Electronics and software are interwoven together. Focusing on this concept, IEEE RUET Student Branch brings to you a series of workshop.
The first session is on 'IoT based Robotics'. The Internet of Things(IoT) and robotics communities have so far been driven by different yet highly complementary objectives, the first focused on supporting information services for pervasive sensing, tracking, and monitoring; the later on producing action, interaction and autonomous behavior. This combination is defined as the term 'Internet of Robotic Things' which denote a concept where sensor data from a variety of sources are fused, processed using local and distributed intelligence and used to control and manipulate objects in the physical world. In this cyber-physical perspective of the IoRT, sensor and data analytics technologies from the IoT are used to give robots a wider situational awareness that leads to better task execution. So our workshop aims at highlighting the core concepts of IoRT and provide a better understanding of the architectural assimilation of IoRT and identify important research directions on this term.
